A Downtown Los Angeles Morning

This morning Jeff and I decided to go into Downtown L.A. to check out a book shop that I heard about. It was fabulous! It is in a beautiful old building that was once a bank.

I saw this skeleton in the window on the way in and I was excited!

Upstairs there were Artists lofts/shops. Awesome works there.




Some old doors that were hanging around in a back hall. Love.





Since we were already downtown, we went to Olvera street. First though, we crossed the street and walked around Chinatown for a bit.


I found this MUST HAVE Frida heart


And we bought this large Muerta to bring Fortune and Love to our home always.

Rachel Kaufman  for National Geographic News  Published February 8, 2012  A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. And a new species of Amorphophallus—the genus that includes the "corpse flower"—still smells like rotting meat and feces.  Discovered on an island off the coast of Madagascar, the newfound plant grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) high and blooms once a year with a "really foul" stench, according to discoverer Greg Wahlert, a postdoctoral researcher in botany at the University of Utah. Lynn Bohs, a biology professor in the same lab as Wahlert, described the smell in a statement as a combination of "rotting roadkill" and a "Porta Potty." The new flower adds to the roughly 170 species in the Amorphophall
