Shadow Box Art

Image
www.wednesdaysattic.com My latest works of art. This one contains almost all of my Mourning Jewelry. Since it is both Antique and Vintage the clasps are old and not reliable to wear. The brooches are long pins, sharp as hell and they always end up stabbing me.  So I decided to display my small collection this way. This one is made from a clay heart that I made a few years back and some saved and found things as well.

Striped Obsession

Image
www.wednesdaysattic.com I am mad for stripes! I especially love black and white stripes, but I have been branching out and trying to be less of a stripe snob and accept stripes in other combinations. When can I get this? I have an all black table very much like this. .  Hmmmm Striped rug and chest of drawers! Double Win!

Levitated Mass LACMA

Image
www.wednesdaysattic.com Way back in the twentieth century—1969, to be precise—Michael Heizer had the idea for an artwork he’d call  Levitated Mass . It would be a massive rock perched atop a long slot in the earth. He even got so far as to start creating the artwork in the Nevada desert: he had a 120-ton rock and he dug out the slot. Unfortunately, one of two cranes he was using to mount the rock buckled under the weight, and the project was not completed. Read the rest HERE at LACMAS own blog! Here is the rock arriving at it's new home! I have not seen it in person yet, but we are sure to go before the year is out.

Madame Talbot Art- My personal gallery

Image
I finally completed framing and hanging my latest Madame Talbot art. My stairwell is basically a gallery of her posters. I was especially excited about these new posters, because 3 of them were inspired by photographs from my November Obscura Blog. To think that we helped inspire this beautiful artwork is very flattering. Those 3 are the Corpse Flower, The Black Moriah and Boothill Graveyard. You can see ( and buy) these posters and many more at www.madametalbot.com  and you can see my photos of these things on my other blog at http://novemberobscura.blogspot.com/

Forlorn Hearts

Image
These are the first two hearts in a series I have started. I call them Forlorn hearts because they look a little sad and worried.

Red Haired Witch

Image
This is one of the latest pretties that I found and snatched up. It was painted by Christie, the one who makes many of my dolls. But the great thing is it looks like me, even though I don't think I was the inspiration at all. My friends all call her Wendy.

Skulls in Art

Skulls are so Artistic! They just pop themselves into art and it becomes even more interesting!

Some of my Art

Doll shelf, spray paint and acrylic paint. The large blue framed mirror in this photo is called the VooDoo Mirror. I painted it years ago. It was part of an old bedroom set being thrown out by a neighbor many years ago, so I asked if I could have it. See Sedona, Pio and Alice looking back at you? This is the VooDoo table. It resides at the top of the stairs because there is not much room there. These are a set of wooden nesting dolls that I painted about a year ago. Sacred Heart table, in progress in my studio- also known as my kitchen.  Old Metal cake pan I painted last year
